The technical part: gold-filled is made by bonding a thick layer of gold alloy to a brass core using heat and pressure. It contains 100 times more gold than gold-plated, which carries only a whisper of the real thing (0.05%). That's the difference between jewelry that lasts and jewelry that fades.
